DUSHANBE, August 22, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Sixteen renovated schools in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district, the city of Roghun as well as Vahdat, Nourobod, Vahdat, and Fayzobod districts will open their doors to pupils in the new school year, Asia-Plus has learned at the unit for management of the education development support projects.
Repairs to schools in the mentioned pilot districts are nearing completion. Thus, in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district, four schools, ## 15, 21, 31 and 65, have been renovated, the source at the unit for management of the education development support projects said.
According to the Ministry of Education (MoE), 128 new schools were built in the country last year. 8,810 general schools currently function in Tajikistan.
