DUSHANBE, August 26, 2008, Asia-Plus -- State and prospects of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan were a focus of an August 25 meeting of Said Sharif, head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) within his Kyrgyz counterpart, Boris Perfilyev, who arrived in Tajikistan to attend a session of the Business Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that is being held in Dushanbe today, according to the CCI press service.
In the course of the talks, the two, in particular, discussed holding of joint fair exhibitions and business forums, as well as activities within the SCO Business Council.
Sharif and Perfilyev also considered a plan of actions for 2009. Bishkek will host a regular session of the CIS CCI heads next year to discuss ways of further expansion of cooperation between CCIs of the CIS states.
The sides also agreed to organize conferences of businesspeople of the two countries in Dushanbe and Bishkek in 2009, the press service said.
