DUSHANBE, August 28, 2008, Asia-Plus  -- Except for Tajikistan, other member nations of Shanghai G-6 are not interested in admission of Iran to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Arkady Dubnov, a political observer for Russia’s Vremya Novostei (time of News), said in an interview with Asia-Plus.   

“Other member nations of the Organizations realize Tajikistan’s stance on the issue of admission of Iran to the SCO; these two countries share common history, culture and language,” the political observer said.   

On the possibility of consideration of the issue of recognition of the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia at the Dushanbe summit, Dubnov noted that most likely the SCO heads of state will second the Medvedev-Sarcozy plan, which does not provide for the issue of recognition of the independence of those breakaway Georgian regions.    

According to him, the Dushanbe summit will not adopt any documents or statements on South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
