DUSHANBE, August 28, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were a focus of a meeting of Emomali Rahmon with Uzbek President Islam Karimov, who arrived in Dushanbe to attend a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
According to presidential press service, Rahmon and Karimov discussed state and prospects of relations between the two countries within the framework of the SCO and other international and regional organizations.
They highly appraised a role of the SCO in strengthening of international and regional security as well as expansion of cooperation between member nations and observer countries of the Organization.
The presidents vowed to boost cooperation between the two countries.
Emomali Rahmon invited the Uzbek president to pay a state visit to Tajikistan.
