DUSHANBE, September 2, 2008, Asia-Plus -- The main work on rehabilitation of a head office of Tajik Medical University, ruined by fire in December 2007, have been completed and it just remains to carry out finishing work, Asia-Plus has learned at Medical University’s administration.
Therefore, the rehabilitated building will be reopened in early October, the source at Medical University’s administration said, adding that the government has allocated more than 7 million somonis for rehabilitation of the building and further 202,000 US dollars have been provided by international donors.
The source noted that the Governments of India and Turkey had provided US$100,000 financial assistance each for the rehabilitation of the building and the American Association of Physicians had sent US$2,000 for the rehabilitation of Tajik State Medical University. Russia, the Unite States, Iran and countries of the European Union have promised to provide textbooks and office equipment, the source said.
