KHOROG, September 3, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Prices of basic food products have not increased in Gorno Badakhshan with the beginning of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan; however, compared to last year they rose 20% to 100%.
Asia-Plus’ correspondent for Gorno Badakhshan yesterday visited the central market in Khorog, the capital of Gorno Badakhshan. The price of one kilogram of grade 1 wheat flour in Khorog is now 2.9 somonis, beef – 12 somonis per kilogram, mutton – 13 somonis, vegetable oil – 9 somonis per liter, milk – 1.5 somonis per liter, sugar – 3 somonis per kilogram, potatoes – 2.5 somonis, carrots – 3 somonis, onions – 2 somonis, tomatoes – 3 somonis and cucumbers – 4 somonis.
