KULOB, September 6, 2008, Asia-Plus  -- After Tajikistan’s Independence Day, which is marked on September 9, 250 students of Tajik Technological University’s branch in Kulob will move to a new building that was constructed under financial support of the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI).    

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Madisso Sadulloyev, deputy director of the Kulob branch of Technological University, said that two other buildings of the branch will be finished in 2009.  

According to him, Tajik Technological University’s branch in Kulob has 700 students.  19 of them, including eight girls, entered the university by so-called presidential quota. 

“Some 90 percent of students at our University are studying on contractual basis (they pay for their education), and therefore, monthly wages of lecturers are high – 300 to 1,200 somonis,” Sadulloyev said.
