DUSHANBE, September 12, 2008, Asia-Plus - Two persons have been detained in Tajikistan for cultivating hemp for further realization in Uzbekistan.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), a 52-year-old Odil Mahmoudjonov from Jirgatol, eastern Tajikistan and a 52-year-old Rustam Vohidov from Sughd’s Spitamen district were detained by Sughd police officers yesterday on suspicion of growing more than 3,700 bushes of hemp on abandoned areas in the Zafarobod district, Sughd province for further realization in Uzbekistan.
