DUSHANBE, September 17, 2008, Asia-Plus -- On Monday September 15, Sharif Said, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), met with the Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan, Ali-Asghar Sherdoust.
According to the CCI press service, issues related to further expansion of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran were among major topics of the meeting.
In the course of the talks, the CCI head, in particular, briefed the Iranian diplomat on branches of Tajikistan’s economy that need investments. He noted that Iran’s experience in creation of industrial areas and free economic zones (FEZs) would be useful for Tajikistan.
He also proposed to discuss bilateral cooperation on training of personnel of Tajikistan’s business sphere, the press service said.
Iranian diplomat, for his part, suggested that trade and economic relations between the countries, especially between representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises, should expand.
