DUSHANBE, September 25, 2008, Asia-Plus -- The education development projects management unit has published standard modules for parents and teachers in order to acquaint them with principles of activities of the Associations of Parents and Teachers (APT), Asia-Plus has learned from Parviz Saidov, a spokesman for the unit.
According to him, the standard modules are recommended as manuals for schools that are establishing APTs.
“The modules have already been practiced at schools in Kulob, Vose, Vahdat, Fayzobod, Roghun, Nourobod, and Dushanbe’s Shohmansour districts, where APTs have already been actively operating,” the spokesman said, adding that more than 418 APTs currently operate in seven pilot cities and districts of the country under the school education modernization project.
APT is a voluntary organization bringing together parents and teachers within school, usually for building parent involvement and community at school and other activities relating to the welfare of the school.
