KHUJAND, October 10, 2008, Asia-Plus -- the World financial crisis will not affect investments of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Tajikistan, Mr. Makoto OjiroCountry Director, Tajikistan Resident Mission ADB, stated at a meeting with journalists in Khujand, the capital of the Sughd province on October 9.
According to him, the Bank is owned by 67 members, including 48 from the region. It is obvious that if economy of any of donor countries suffers, contributions to the bank will reduce.
“During the 41st Annual Meeting that was recently held in Madrid, it was decided to make contributions to the Bank a the same level,” said Mr. Ojiro, “The bank has received contributions for the coming four years, and therefore, there''s nothing for Tajikistan to worry about.”
