KHUJAND, October 21, 2008, Asia-Plus -- UNICEF CO Tajikistan provided a consignment of special fridges for keeping vaccines to Tajikistan at the end of last week.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the director of the Sughd branch of the Republican Immunoprophylactic Center, Mumin Bobojonov, said that 22 vaccine fridges had been delivered to the Sughd province. “The vaccine fridges will be distributed to al districts of the province,” said Bobojonov, “Panjakent has already received four fridges and Kuhistoni Mastchoh and Ayni have also received three fridges each to this date.’
In the meantime, the source at the UNICEF Dushanbe Office said that in all, 96 vaccine fridges for a total amount of US$250,000 had been delivered to the country. “The Ministry of Health is to distribute them to all regions of the country,” the source said.
