KHUJAND, October 24, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Since the beginning of this year, 42 residents of the Sughd province, including three women, have been detained in Russian for drug smuggling, the Sughd counternarcotics directorate chief Fayzullo Abdulloyev announced at a press conference in Dushanbe on October 23.
According to him, totaling 89 kilograms of narcotic drugs have been confiscated from them, the Sughd drug control chief said, noting that over the same period of last year, 70 residents of Sughd had been detained in Russia for the same crimes.
