DUSHANBE, November 26, 2008, Asia-Plus - On sidelines of the session of the Eurasian Economic Community’s (EAEC) Inter-Parliament Assembly (IPA), Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) also rotating chairman of the EAEC IPA, held talks with Chairman of the Belarus’ National Assembly Boris Botura and Chairman of the Chamber of Representatives of Belarus’ National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko in St. Petersburg on November 25, Asia-Plus has learned from Shavkat Saidov, an aide to the Majlisi Milli speaker for public relations.
According to him, the sides discussed state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and Belarus and a role of parliaments in promote of expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Dunn the meeting, it was noted that economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Belarus was good and two-way trade between the countries was increasing. The sides, in particular, noted that demand for Belarus goods has increased in Tajikistan and Belarus was interested in cotton and aluminum supplies from Tajikistan.
Ubaidulloyev invited his Belarus counterparts to pay visit to Tajikistan.
