DUSHANBE, December 30, 2008, Asia-Plus -- A December 29 government meeting approved the national program for deep processing of livestock raw materials (wools and skins), according to presidential press service.
Under this program, some 2 million skins pieces will be annually processed in the country in 2015. In 2007, only 6,000 skins pieces were processed in Tajikistan. Besides, preprocessing of wool is expected to reach 6,495 tons in 2015, while in 2007, preprocessing of wool amounted to 340 tons.
The government also endorsed the concepts of national agrarian policy, creation of a “one-door” mechanism for export/import operations as well as the general plan of the concept of creation and maintenance of jobs in the country for 2008-2015.
