DUSHANBE, January 8, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan Education Modernization Project, which is funded by the World Bank in cooperation with the Government of Tajikistan, intends to test 105 schools in Tajikistan in May this year, according to the education projects management unit.
The fourth-grade pupils will undergo test. “The national survey (testing) will be conducted among pupils at 105 schools in 12 cities and districts of the country that have already been shifted to new forms of financing,” the source said, noting that the survey will cover more than 2,300 pupils. The first phase of testing was conducted in May 2008, according to him.
The Education Modernization Project seeks to avoid further decline in the education system, to instead support the rebuilding process, through improved learning conditions, school enrollment, and educational completion through grade 5.
