QURGHON TEPPA, January 8, 2009, Asia-Plus - More than 10 percent of farms funded by Agroinvestbonk’s branch in Qurghon Teppa have repaid cotton loons, Abdulfattoh Sharipov, director of the branch of Agroinvestbonk for Khatlon’s Qurghon Teppa region, said.
According to him, their branch provided 29 million somoni, including 16.127 million somoni of budget’s funds, in loans to 497 cotton-growing farms in the Qurghon Teppa region of the Khatlon province. “The farms have returned 3.7 million somoni to this date, which is 13 percent of a total amount of loans provided,” Sharipov said.
However, some farming units may fail to repay the loans, he added.
