DUSHANBE, January 14, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Tajik national TV intends to open its representative office in Europe, director of the Tajik state TV channel, Safina, Mahmadsid Pirov announced at a press conference in Dushanbe on January 14.
According to him, negotiations on this subject were conducted with the German Embassy in Dushanbe recently. “The office will be based in Germany and representatives of both state and private TV stations may broadcast from this office for European countries,” Pirov said, noting that an average monthly wages of Tajik reporters that will work in Europe will fluctuate from 5,000 to 7,000 US dollars.
The competition for selection of reporters will be announced within the next few days, the Safina director said.
In the meantime, speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the head of the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting Asadullo Rahmonov noted that the issue of opening of the representative office of the Tajik TV news channel, Jahonnamo, in Qatar would be solved in the coming two months. “For its part, Qatar is interested in opening of representative office of internationally known Qatari TV channel Al-Jazeera in Dushanbe,” said Rahmonov, “The offices will be opened under the bilateral agreement between Tajikistan and Qatar on exchange of infroamtion that was signed during President Rahmon’s visit to Qatar in November 2008.”
