DUSHANBE, January 15, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A government delegation of Saudi Arabia visited Tajikistan on January 11-14.
The main purpose of the visit was for the delegation, comprising representatives from the Saudi ministries of agriculture, health, oil and mineral resources, to discuss cooperation issues with Tajik state officials. During its stay in Dushanbe, the delegation held talks with the first Deputy Foreign Minister Abdullo Yuldoshev and senior representatives from relevant ministries and departments of Tajikistan.
In the meantime, according to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEi), it was a familiarization trip for the Saudi experts. Talks of the Saudi experts with senior representatives of the ministry focused on issues related to possible cooperation in oil and gas production in Tajikistan. The Saudi experts also got acquainted with mining and gas-and-oil projects developed by the MoEI specialists.
