KHUJAND, January 16, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The Khujand based open joint-stock company (OJSC), Sorbon, has purchased 10 cars Opel-Omega from Estonia for taxi.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Sorbon director general Abduahad Sharipov said that Opels had been purchased “under support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) due to short-term loan received from the Eskhata Bank.”
The cars got customs clearance at the end of last week and were delivered to Khujand for registration. “If everything breaks right we plan to purchase up to 70 minivans Mercedes-Sprinter for using them as fixed-route taxies in Khujand,” Sharipov said.
