DUSHANBE, February 5, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Library at Tajik National University that participated in competition launched among scientific libraries of the CIS states received Gold Certificate, Asia-Plus has learned at Tajik National University administration.
Content of library holding and percentage of scientific literature and teaching aids were among the key criteria to determine the competition winner, the source said, adding that 3,000 copies of scientific literature and textbooks will be delivered to the university library within this month.
Besides, the educational project-tour for librarians of the CIS member states will be launched on February 26. “Within ten days, our librarians together with their colleagues from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, and Uzbekistan will visit leading libraries of Bishkek, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk and Kiev,” the source said.
As it had been reported earlier, the books that will arrive in Dushanbe this month were gathered during the traditional charity action carried out by the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund last December in Moscow. More than 20 publishing houses including, Exmo, Khudozhestvennaya Literatura, Druzhba Narodov, Belarus, Moldova’s Book, university publishing houses (the Lomonosov University of Moscow, the Bauman University, the Moscow State Linguistic University), participated in the action.
The book cargo recipients also include the Belarusian National Library, the Research Library of the Branch of the Lomonosov University in Baku, the Armenian National Library, the Research Library of the Abai National Pedagogical University of Kazakhstan, the Research Library of the Karasaev Humanitarian University of Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), the Research Library of the Kahul University of Moldova, the Research Library of the Tver State University (Russian Federation), the Research Library of the Tajik State National University, the National Library of the Saparmurat Turkmenbashi Cultural Center (Turkmenistan), the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan, the spokesman said.
