DUSHANBE, February 13, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Today afternoon, President Emomali Rahmon is beginning a two-day working visit to Estonia, according to the MFA information department.
According to Davlat Nazriyev, a spokesman for the MFA, the purpose of the visit is for Tajik leader to discuss with high-ranking Estonian state officials issues related to expansion of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Estonia.
Estonia is the last leg of President Rahmon’s week-long European tour, which began on February 8 and has already taken him to Latvia, Belgium, the European Union and NATO headquarters in Brussels and Lithuania.
In Tallinn, Emomali Rahmon will hold talks with his Estonian counterpart, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Prime Minister Andrus Ansip and Parliament Speaker Ene Ergma.
Today, President Rahmon will also attend a business forum that is expected to consider opportunities and potentials of establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation between the entrepreneurs of the two countries.
