DUSHANBE, February 28, 2009, Asia-Plus -- On February 26, chairman of the board of open joint-stock company (OJSC) Agroinvestbonk Niyozmurod Saidmurodov met with visiting president of Cyrus Microfinance, Mr. Samuel Klaus.
According to Agroinvestbonk’s press service, present financial state of Agroinvestbonk was major topic of the meeting. The sides, also discussed issues related to prospects of development of Agroinvestbonk as well as microcrediting programs launched by the Tajik bank.
During the meeting, it was noted that last year, Agroinvestbonk received microloan applications for more than 50 million US dollars, and this year, the bank would provide much more funds for microloans compared to 2008, the press service said.
The Cyrus Microfinance top manager highly appraised Agroinvestbonk’s activities on domestic financial market.
In the course of the talks, Mr. Klaus also briefed Mr. Saidmurodov on strategy of his company based on establishment of partnership with banks and organizations having considerable experience in microcrediting.
The purpose of the visit for representatives from Cyrus Microfinance is to promote implementation of microcrediting projects in Tajikistan and attraction of funds from European and American banks for these projects, the press service said.
Founded in 1992, Agroinvestbonk, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has main branches in Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and 61 other branches across the republic.
