KHUJAND, March 2, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A newspaper for women, Zarrintoj (Golden Crown), has been brought out in Khujand, the capital of the Sughd province.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the newspaper consultant Bobojon Ikromov said the first edition of Zarrintoj with circulation of a 10,000 had been printed in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
“The first edition of the newspaper was published due to presidential grant of 40,000 somoni,” said Ikromov, “The next editions of Zarrintoj will be published in Khujand on money made from sale of the first edition. The price of newspaper is 3.00 somoni.”
The founder of Zarrintoj is the Sughd committee for family and women’s affairs.
