DUSHANBE, March 3, 2009, Asia-Plus -- On Monday March 2, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), Mr. Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, met with France’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Henry Zipper de Fabiani.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Shavkat Saidov, an aide to the upper house speaker, said the two had discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and France in sectors like trade, hydropower engineering, science and culture.
Ubaidulloyev noted that time had come to expand inter-parliament cooperation between the two countries. He, in particular, offered establishment of Tajik-French friendship parliamentary group, the aide said.
