DUSHANBE, March 4, 2009, Asia-Plus -- On Tuesday March 3, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov met here with Adviser to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for CIS, Mr. Joomart Otorbayev, and Head of the EBRD Dushanbe Resident Office, Mr. Matthieu Le Blan, according to presidential press service.
In the course of the talks, the sides discussed issue related to attracting investments for development of Tajikistan’s economy and measures taken to mitigate effects of the global financial crisis.
Representatives of the EBRD noted that the EBRD Board of Directors had approved a decision to provide 50 million euros to support banking sphere and enhancement of agrarian sector in Tajikistan, the press service said.
Tajik prime minister briefed them on the present socioeconomic situation in the country and offered them to participate in energy projects in the country.
