DUSHANBE, March 28, 2009, Asia-Plus  -- Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi on March 27 held talks with the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary General Dr. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu in Moscow on sidelines of the Special Conference on Afghanistan, according to the MFA information department.

The sides discussed state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the OIC.  Zarifi and Ihsanoglu also considered issues related to the upcoming summit of the Organization due in 2010.

The same day, Zarifi held talks with his Turkish counterpart, Ali Babacan.  They discussed bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey as well as the progress of implementation of agreements that had been reached during Turkish minister’s visit to Tajikistan in 2008.  In the course of the talks, Zarifi and Babacan also touched upon issues related to the forthcoming official visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to Tajikistan, the MFA information department said.
