DUSHANBE, April 10, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Tajik central bank notes that the crediting of economic sectors has shown upward tendency in January-March 2009.
A total credit balance rose 3.2 percent in three months to March 31, 2009, reaching 5.0143 billion somoni, according to press service of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).
Over the first three months of this year, banks in Tajikistan have provided loans for a total amount of 984.9 million somoni (TJS).
The volume of microloans, which are of one of the main directions of activity of the country’s banking system to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and promote poverty reduction in the country, rose 4.7 percent in the year to march 31, 2009, reaching 401.4 million somoni, the press services said.
