DUSHANBE, April 20, 2009, Asia-Plus  -- President Emomali Rahmon today accepted credentials of Malaysian Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Abdul Aziz Bin Harun, according to presidential press service.

In the course of the talks, the sides discussed the present state of relations between Tajikistan and Malaysia and the president expressed satisfaction with the high level of confidence between leaderships of the two countries and noted that Tajikistan was ready for further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation with Malaysia, the press service said.

The sides in particular, outlined sectors like agriculture, tourism, power engineering, textile industry as areas of which could drive the bilateral trade between the two countries.

Tajik president and Malaysian diplomat also discussed issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and Malaysia within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and other international organizations.

Abdul Aziz  conveyed a complementary letter of Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to President Rahmon and invited him on behalf of them to pay a state visit to Malaysia, the press service said.
