DUSHANBE, May 8, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A special anti-drug operation, dubbed Poppy-2009, will be launched in Tajikistan on Sunday, according to press service of the Drug Control Agency (DCA).
The operation aimed at revealing and destructing areas under narcotic-containing plant will be carried out throughout the country from May 10 through November 30 this year. The operation will involve all law enforcement agencies as well as ministry of agriculture, agency for environmental protection, the committee for TV and radio-broadcasting, and local authorities.
The staff for carrying out and coordinating the operation will function at the counternarcotics agency.
