DUSHANBE, May 18, 2009, 2009 -- Over the first four months of this year, Tajikistan has produced a total of 1.6 billion somoni worth of industrial goods, according to the State Committee for Statistics.
Compared to January-April 2008 the index of the volume of industrial goods amounted to 88.1 percent.
Industrial products worth 1.06 billion somoni have been delivered in January-April 2009, or 97 percent of the volume of products produced.
Over the report period, 416 enterprises (53.2 percent) have exceeded the Jan-Apr 08 production level. In January-April 2009, 181 enterprise, or 23.1 percent of the overall number (782), stood idle. Moreover, in April 2008 there were 298 enterprises (38.1 percent) that were not in operation.
