DUSHANBE, May 20, 2009, Asia-Plus -- 15 new industrial enterprises are expected to be launched in Khatlon’s Qurghon Teppa region by the end of this year, according to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI).
Seven brickworks, two flour-milling plants, three mills for producing cooking (cotton) oil, two plants for producing soft drinks, two small hydropower plants, and two cotton-ginning factories are expected to have been constructed in the region by the end of the year, the MoEI press service said. Besides, one cement plant, one soap-producing plant, one textile factory, and one factory for producing threads will have also been launched in the province by the end of 2009.
Since the beginning of this year, seven new industrial enterprises have been launched in Khatlon’s Qurghon Teppa region and 350 people currently work with those enterprises.
In all, 34 industrial enterprises are planned to be built in the Khatlon province this year. According to the preliminary estimates, the enterprises will create more than 2,000 new jobs, the press service said.
