DUSHANBE, May 22, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A meeting of the regional staff for carrying out the anti-drug operation, dubbed Poppy 2009, in the Sughd province was held in Khujand on May 21, according the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press service.
During the meeting, it was noted that the law enforcement officers have destroyed hemp plantations on an area of totaling 0.2 hectares since May 15, when the anti-drug operation was launched.
More than five kilograms of narcotics and two firearms have been seized across the country during the operation, the DCA press service said.
