DUSHANBE, May 26, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Kazakhstan’s Defense Minister Daniyal Akhmedov has arrived in Dushanbe today morning on a two-day working visit.
According to Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a chief spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD), during his stay in Dushanbe, Kazakh defense minister is scheduled hold talks with his Tajik counterpart, Colonel-General Sherali Khairulloyev, President Emomali Rahmon, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov and the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Chairman Mahmadsaid Ubdaidulloyev.
Issues related to military-technical cooperation between Tajikistan, conducting of joint military exercises and training of military personnel for Tajik national army will be among major topics of the countries’ defense ministers, the spokesman said.
