DUSHANBE, June 9, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s Red Crescent Society (RCS) has opened the information and education center for labor migrants in the Roshtqala district, Gorno Badakhshan. The opening ceremony of the center was held in the Roshtqala district center at the end of last week.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the RCS labor migration project coordinator Saydo Nazarov said that that fifth center was the last of a series of information and education centers for labor migrants opened by RCS across the country. According to him, similar centers have also been opened in Shahriston, Asht, Vose and Panj districts. The project has been implemented under financial support of the European Union.
The centers will make available free accurate information related to labor migration and the legal realities, Nazarov said. Besides, the centers will also organize training courses on the Russian language and basic computer skills for labor migrants. In all, some 20,000 people are expected to be taught n Russian in two years, the project coordinator added.
