DUSHANBE, June 13, 2009, Asia-Plus  -- The first English-language newspaper has appeared in Tajikistan.

Presentation of the Dushanbe weekly, The Tajik Times , founded by Nourali Shoyev, was held at the Republican Press Center in Dushanbe on June 12.

According to Nourali Shoyev, who is also editor-in-chief of the weekly, the 16-page newspaper that will have circulation of a 500 will inform foreign readers, among whom are international staff of diplomatic embassies and international organizations active in the country, about events taking place in Tajikistan.
