DUSHANBE, June 29, 2009, Asia-Plus -- On Sunday June 28, officers from the Dushanbe police directorate intercepted more than 14 kilograms of hashish, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
“When searching Opel-Vectra belonging to the Dushanbe resident Akram Rasoulov, police officers found two sacks containing more than 14 kilograms of hashish,” the source at a MoI said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Rasoulov and an investigation is under way.
In January-May this year, police have solved 300 drug-related crimes and seized 1,249 kilograms of narcotics. A totaled included 170 kilograms of heroin, 192 kilograms of raw opium and 887 kilograms of cannabis narcotics.
