DUSHANBE, July 3, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Organizing-information forum entitled “Establishment of International Innovation Center for Nanotechnologies of the CIS States” concluded in the Russian city of Dubna on July 2, according to press service of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFHC).
The forum was held on sidelines of the 2nd higher courses for young scientists from the CIS states on modern methods of research in nanosystems.
The project for establishment of the innovation center for nanotechnologies was initiated in 2008 by the Unified Institute for Nuclear Studies jointly with Russian Research Center “Kurchatov Institute” and Russia’s Federal Agency for Management of Special Economic Zones with support from IFHC.
The innovation center for nanotechnologies is planned to be established in Dubna as a single center coordinating formation of hi-tech market for nano industry. It is expected to become a flexible instrument of integration of research, education and innovation space of the CIS as well as implementation of projects using advantages of the free economic zone “Dubna.”
The innovation center for nanotechnologies will include the center for collective use of equipment, the research and education center, and the technology transfer center.
Some 100 representatives of profile ministries, national academies of sciences, chambers of commerce and industries, largest research and education centers, as well as leading state-run and private corporations working in the hi-tech sphere from 11 member nations of the CIS attended the forum in Dubna.
