KHUJAND, July 8, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The source at the Khujand airport said that the bodies of 109 residents of the northern Sughd province had been returned home from the Russian Federation since the beginning of this year.
According to him, the bodies of 29 Sughd residents have been returned from Russia since June alone. “The bodies have been returned from Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Orienburg and Surgut,” said the source, “The majority of them were men of different ages; however, there were also women and children.”
The source says that nearly half of those 29 died from stab wounds inflicted on them while others perished as a result of illness, were killed in various accidents or committed suicide.
