QURGHON TEPPA, July 10, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The Qurghon Teppa military prosecutor’s office is seriously concerned over a poor medical provision for military units deployed here.
According to the deputy Qurghon Teppa military prosecutor, Suhrob Rustamov, commanders of these military units do nothing for improving medical provision and take no preventive measures despite the fact that many servicemen contract various infectious diseases every year.
“The military units are not properly provided with medicines and medical equipment,” said the deputy military prosecutor, “They have not ambulances.”
Inspections by the military prosecutor’s office have revealed that military units 2720 and 2628 of the Border Guards and military unit 02214 of the Ministry of Defense (MoD) do not have refrigerators for keeping medicines, Rustamov said.
