DUSHANBE, July 10, Asia-Plus -- 96 cooperation agreements and memoranda have been concluded between Tajik and Iranian universities on sidelines of a four-day exhibition of Iran’s research, education and technological achievements that was held in Dushanbe on July 6-9.
The Minister of Education Abdujabbor Rahmonov expressed hope that the signed documents would promote establishment of close cooperation between universities of the two countries.
Rahmonov noted that a number of meetings and discussions had been held on the sidelines of the exhibition and university chancellors from Tajikistan and Iran expressed interest in carrying out joint research works. The sides, in particular, reached an agreement on joint preparation and publication of a number of books.
Tajik and Iranian universities also agreed to exchange experience. “Many Iranian universities and research centers have offered five seats each for Tajik students and teachers for studying and exchange of experience,” the minister said, noting that the Iranian side assumed all the expenses.
According to him, 40 Iranian institutions, including universities, research centers, electronic libraries and industrial parks, and 13 Tajik universities participated in the exhibition.
