DUSHANBE, July 14, 2009, Asia-Plus -- On Monday July 13, visiting European Troika delegation held talks with Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) Director Rustam Nazarov.
According to the DCA press service, the sides considered a broad ranges of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union in combating illicit drug trafficking as well as the drug situation in the region.
In the course of the talks, Tajik drug control chief briefed the EU Troika delegation on the current drug situation in Tajikistan, measures, taken by the government to fight drug trafficking, as well as the results of activities of Tajik law enforcement authorities, including the counternarcotics agency.
Members of the EU Troika delegation also visited a number of the DCA sub-divisions to get acquainted with their activities, the press service said.
