KHUJAND, July 20, Asia-Plus -- Specialists from the Rehabilitation Center for Children with Limited Opportunities at the Khujand City Health Center have fixed 20 local children with musculoskeletal problems up that allows them to attend the conventional schools and return to full-fledged life, the center director, Ms. Muhabbat Jourayeva, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to her, the center was established in 2005 with support from the National Social Investment Fund of Tajikistan (NSIFT), the UNICEF CO in Tajikistan and the Ministry of Health (MoH) of Tajikistan.
“Children under the age of 15 undergo rehabilitation at the center,” said Jourayeva, “Skilled physiotherapist, speech therapist, speech pathologist, and social worker work with the center that provides all services free of charge.”
Some 1,300 children have undergone rehabilitation at the center since 2006. “We hope for support of international organizations in order to begin treatment of children suffering from infantile cerebral paralysis,” the center director said.
