DUSHANBE, July 21, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The European Union promotes social protection through its project "Support to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MLSP) of the Republic of Tajikistan to Enhance its Pension Administration."
According to the Delegation of the European Commission in Tajikistan, the project provides advice to the State Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions (SASIP) in developing an efficient and effective pension administration system that can support a financially sustainable pension program, consistent with the poverty reduction policies of the MLSP.
Only an efficient and effective administration will lead to successful implementation of the new Law on State and Insured Pensions in the Republic of Tajikistan, expected to come into effect in 2011.
Organized in the frame of the EU funded project, a workshop has opened at the Congress Grand Asia Hotel, in Dushanbe today. This workshop provides an opportunity to discuss the state of modernizing the administration of the executing State Agency of the pension program.
It is believed that project recommendations - to be discussed in the Workshop - will help leaders to improve organizational management and communication strategies. These improvements will contribute to greater retirement income protection over the years to come and will support employees performing their work more efficiently and, ultimately, serve the public timely and fairly.
The workshop is also dedicated to promote Academic / Research support to social security administrations in order to promote networking and visibility of the Tajikistan Social Security institutes in academic circles and through them to the Government authorities, incl. SASIP and the general public.
