DUSHANBE, July 31, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Tajik private air carrier, Somon Air, operated the first flight from Dushanbe to Frankfurt am Main on July 29.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Firouz Eshonqulov, the first deputy director general of Somon Air, said they planned twice-weekly service to Frankfurt am Main. “The flights will be operated on Wednesdays and Saturdays,” Eshonqulov said, noting the flight to Frankfurt is the first flight operated by their company to Europe.
Boeing 737-800 is used to operate this flight and the price for economy class air ticket is 240 euros (round trip price is 650 euros) and the business class airfare price is 440 euros (round trip price 910 euros).
We will recall that in early July, Somon Air launched the air routes from Dushanbe to Krasnoyarsk and from Khujand to Krasnoyarsk and Sochi.
Somon Air also offers international routes from Dushanbe to Moscow and Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
Somon Air is an airline based in Dushanbe. It is Tajikistan’s first private air carrier. Somon Air was granted an operating license and aviation operator certificate in 2006. As of January 16, 2009, the Somon Air fleet included Boeing 737-400 (which is operated by East Air) and Boeing 737-800.
