KHUJAND, August 21, 2009, Asia-Plus -- In July this year, 12 new cases of HIV infection were registered in the Sughd province, according to the Sughd Regional AIDS Center.
Over the first half-year of 2009, 41 new cases of HIV infections have been detected in the province; 27 of them are men, 13 are women and one is underage child, the source at the Sughd AIDS Center said.
In all, 53 new HIV cases have been detected in area over the first seven months of this year, bringing the total number of HIV sufferers here to 404, he added.
