KHUJAND, August 27, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The branch of Khujand State University has been opened in the Bobojonghafurov district and it began accepting documents from entrants today, according to the Sughd department for science, higher and secondary special educational institutions.
The branch director Shavkat Sharipov says the branch has been opened following numerous requests from local residents and with support from the Bobojonghafurov local authorities.
“The branch will train specialists in five teaching specialties: English; mathematics, Tajik language and literature for Uzbek-language schools; physical training and primary education technology,” Sharipov said.
This year, the branch is expected to accept 175 students, including 50 external students, this year. They will study on contractual basis, paying US$150 to US$250 per year.
