KHUJAND, August 27, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Tajik-Austrian joint venture, limited liability company Petroleum Sughd, has produced 10,000 tons of oil since the beginning of this year, Asia-Plus has learned from Abdunosir Nodirov, the head of the planning department within Petroleum Sughd.
According to him, 6,600 tons of oil extracted this year have been sold to the Konibodom limited liability Shohon and the Dushanbe limited liability company Hasan & Co.
“Over the first seven months of this year, our company has also produced approximately 2,000 square meters of natural gas and 450,000 cubic meters of gas produced over the report period have been realized to residential customers,” said Nodirov, “We need investments to increase hydrocarbon productions.”
Tajikistan owns 43 percent of the shares and the Austrian company EPA assumes the 57% ownership interest in the limited liability company Petroleum Sughd.
