DUSHANBE, September 11, 2009, Asia-Plus  -- An international conference and exhibition on “Renewable Energy in Central Asia: Creating Economic Sustainability to Solve Socio-Economic Challenges” will take place in Dushanbe on November 11 and 12, 2009, according to the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe.

The immediate goals of the conference are to discuss the development and use of renewable energy in Central Asia, to share positive experiences across borders, and to exchange ideas on regional approaches to the common problems. Conference participants will also seek to identify policy frameworks that would help facilitate the introduction of renewable energy projects in the region and improve investment climate so to engage international financial institutions, donors and investors.

Participants of the conference will include leading regional and international experts on renewable energy, advisors to regional governments, business leaders involved in practical applications of renewable energy resources, and representatives of international missions and organizations.

The conference is jointly organized by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the American Chamber of Commerce in Tajikistan, the Joint Stock Company SystemAvtomatika, and the Association of Energy Specialists of Tajikistan, with active support by the Government of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Energy and Industries of Tajikistan.
