KULOB, September 12, 2009, Asia-Plus -- On occasion of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, the field office of the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (IKRC), Imdad, in Kulob has provided humanitarian assistance to 51 vulnerable residents of the Farkhor district in Khatlon’s Kulob zone, according to the IKRC field office.
The beneficiaries included mainly elderly people who do not have relatives to support. “They have received 10 kilograms of wheat flour, 4 liters of vegetable oil, 3 kilograms of macaroni and one kilogram of sugar each,” the source said.
Besides, IKRC’s field office organized iftar (evening meal when Muslims break their fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan) for 120 pupils at the boarding school in the Kulob district.
